it's been a REALLY REALLY REALLY long time since i last updated. it's the end of spring break. tomorrow is the start of classes once again...oh joy...all break has been work, work, and more work. in hms and in addams and in mcc. it's been fun though chillin with fellow dmders.
as for the rest of the semester. wow. hell. 3-d modeling and virtual world design consume my life. cse 320 (intro to algorithms) is so hard. that also consumes my life, though i don't really put much time into it outside of class, until of course we are given homework. then it is all niters until it's done. sad. econ...eh, havne't studied really. no time for that petty college class, when tehre are engineering courses (not to look down upon the college of course). well, perhaps i should start studyin cause my grade ain't doin too well...
track's goin alrite i guess...all i've been doin is biking cause my ankle is retarded again. more retarded than last year. perhaps i'll get back into it this week after uh...3-4 weeks of biking.
on a happier note...next semester i won't be here...i'll be many many many many miles away...studying abroad...and not in australia no more...now it's new zealand! classes start july 8th! sooo early, but i'll be done at the latest, nov 30. so i'll have a month to tour the country and travel to australia as well. it's gonna be great! can't wait...

it took phoebe and me about an hour and a half to find a damn gym that would let us workout at for free. but we still didnt' get to a gym for free...had to buy a box of bars...eas bars. i've had them before, not that bad. but it cost $21. so basically a 2 week membership for me and a 1 week membership for phoebe cost us $21. jeese. the lady was real cool though. she thought one of us had a membership already, but we didn't. she was like, u guys cheated me. she said she usually sells $50 boxes of bars for a 2 week membership. cool lady though, she related to my suffering in the cold in the east. she has a friend out in philadelphia who she visited last year. yea, last year was the worst winter since back in the 19th century. anyway, we got our passes and worked out. eliptical and lifting. eliptical was a way better idea than running. u can go 20 minutes on that thing and sweat like hell but not be completely dead. wow, so after a week and a half of not lifting, u really feel it on the first day back. and it didnt' help that mondays are the hardest liftin workouts either, and it definitely didn't help that the weights were at 70-85% of our maxes. so i'm gonna call it now...lots and lots of pain tomorrow.

what is with all the damn southern california rain? jeese. 5 inches by tomorrow morning? what is this? the I-5 is closed cause of snow? and there are cars stranded? oi. sooo, i'm thinkin no beach any time soon. d'oh. workin out in the mud doens't seem appealin either....so intervals it will have to be... eh...easy on the shins. that's a big plus. but not bein able to get out on the runways...big not good. d'oh. at least it's fun just bummin around all day and not havin to think/worry bout school work....yea 2 more weeks of this peaceful bliss...

HOME baby, i'm HOME! sweeeeeeeet stuff. now it's finally time to relax for 3 weeks. haven't written on xanga for a LONG time...so a recap of what has been happenin in my life at penn...

track - well, calf got better, then got hurt again, got in trouble by coach yet again, but whatever. but now the calf is all good and now have shin problems. not good. other than that, all's good with body, maybe. track has been good. workin out on your own or with a small group of people at any time you want is pretty nice. first track meet at brown didn't go great, no thanks to the 13 hr bus ride up to rhode island because we were caught in a snow storm. yea, it followed us all the way from philly. it was horrible, motion sickness sucks! dramamine saved me after like 8 hrs...when we finally stopped at mcdonalds for food. didnt' get food, cause felt like throwing up, so ran to cvs to get drugs...mmm...drugs...j/k. but yea dramamine (not even sure if i'm spellin it rite) is some good stuff. definitely knocked me out, and knocked out a bunch of other people who were gettin motion sickness too. so we left penn at 12:30 pm and didnt' get to our hotel until 1:30 am. then joanna and i were like wide awake and couldn't fall asleep, didnt' end up sleepin until like 3 am...which was not good since we had to jump at 9:30 am and had to catch the 8 am bus over to brown, and had to wake up at like 6:45 am to get ready. so the meet didn't go as well as i had wanted it to go. thanks to the shins which were screaming at me after the triple jump, which for some odd reason was the first event rather than long or high jump. so hurt to run down the runway and take off. not good. ice is good. definitely lots of ice after my events. saw gabe! that was cool. we caught up some, and we're very much in the same boat, little sleep. hard semester. had a hard time shooting my final project video since i was doin it on the freshmens' first track meet. since i was jumping, missed out on a lot of footage. but got some good ones afterwards. lifting has been hard. ever since we retested and got new maxes, it's been kinda rough. more weight man...that's it for track...next meet is the weekend after classes start...gettin ready for that this break...dbhs pits...watch out...

academics - wow, really rough. lived with lauren in huntsman (wharton building). sad, we pulled all niters there. me, cse, and she, chem. classes were tough. we spent so much time on those classes and sad thing is, we did horribly in them. sooo hard man. but it's all over. finally. thank goodness...unless i didnt' do too well on the final, then i'd prob have to retake it. yea, that's how bad my grade was in the class. i'm really really hopin for a C-. that's pathetic. fine arts classes are great. so fun, but very frustratin especially when workin on a final project and havin the program or computer screw up. yea, that really sucked. film video took sooo much time. spent like 8 hrs straight editin music. then needed a camcorder to record my video onto a mini dv tape since i didnt' do it in the dv lab. had to run over to the fine arts building to check one out, only to find when i got back to my room that it was like broken. so frustrated at that point. lauren came over cause she was goin to the screenin with me, since she was an actor in one of my previous videos that was goin to be shown at the screening. we went over to the fine arts buildin so i could check out another camera and go straight to the screenin, show my video she was in, then get hte video back to record my final project. yea, somethin went wrong and the best music part of my video got cut off...like 15 sec of no sound, soooo mad. but it still looked awesome on the projection. then animation final due a few days later. jeese, taht sucked. it woulnd't export properly in my room so had to run down to the fine arts buildin and work on it in the animation lab there. took a while. then had to cut music for it. we screened/critiqued it the next day (was supposed to be a 3 hrs critique of 10 people's final animation but turned out to be 4 hours). looked pretty good on the projection and everyone was laughin cause they could totally relate, or see me relatin to the animation. had to do with lack of sleep. so that was a crazy few days for fine arts, but those are great classes!

life - yea, little of it outside of track and academics. basically hangin out with track people all the time. mostly lauren when we go study, and cause i use her puter for my video projects. we used to run down to chinatown for our 20 min runs on the weekend to go grocery shoppin and shoppin in the gallery, but got too cold, so we went to the gym instead. tried to spend a lot of time with aiden, one of my roommates. she's goin abroad to spain spring semester, so wont' see her for a while. =*( so sad. gonna miss her a lot. she packed and moved out of the room, and it's all empty now. we've had great times this semester. nice long talks in the wee hrs of the mornin when we were loaded with work. there was always time to talk about school and life in general. great times. my last day in philly for the year was her last day in philly as well. except i had 2 finals back to back from 8:30-10:30 then 11-1. and i had pulled an all niter with 2 other people studyin for those 2 classes, psych and cse. so aiden was workin on movin out and on her papers she had to turn in. finally got home at 7:15am and got ready to take my finals. it was hard to say good bye to her. just not havin her around for a semester is gonna be sad. coudlnt' cry, cause had to think about finals. she had to think about papers she had to finish up. she's home and goin to spain and gonna have lots of fun there. a few of us track girls are plannin on goin to spain to visit her for spring break.  lauren's movin in with us next semester though, so that'll be good. she's another awesome person. great times this past semester. weird how we have almost nothin in common, yet get along so well. so that's basically the life...no time for parties (not that i would go to them anyway), hardly any time for sleep as it is. but did go to a track-ish party. that was awesome, just about everyone was there. good times. great pics...

so that's basically the semester in a nutshell. studying, track, workin a bit. no longer an ITA, work for DMD now. good times now. good hours and good pay (for a college student). little sleep that will be made up this winter break. time to workout some and relax baby! absolutely no studyin will be goin on. definitely lookin forward to this much needed break...

hope everyone's enjoyin theirs...happy holidays!

well...yesterday, i had a really long talk with coach. it lasted for a freakin hour. we spent the first 20 mins or so debating why i got injured in the first place. it's almost like talking to a wall. i sait it mite have been because we were going fast in spikes for a longer distance than normal, but she was like, we've been in spikes for 3 weeks now. it's not the distance, it's the amount of time you're in spikes. then she says that we've been in spikes for like half an hour each time on our less intense days (mondays), and i was like, but we were doin short drills and not actually running. i don't know, but we went on with this for like 20 mins. after that, we talked about my goals. she wrote down my like first 5 goals, the ones i already knew, then proceeded to ask me what else. of course, 5, in my terms, is a lot of goals, so had really nothing to add to the list. so i just say random things. in the end i think i had like 10-15 goals written down on her notes. that was one long meeting...

later, i go to the trainer to do some work on my calf before practice. ended up spending an hour in there, whirlpooling, ultrasounding, and massaging. the massage hurt, and i don't know if it was cause i was in pain, or if the trainer was smushing my muscles to my bones. anyway, when she was done, she said, you're not doing the powder puff thing rite? (for those of you who don't know, the powder puff thing is an annual homecoming event where the girls of each class play flag football against each other the nite before the homecoming game). i had signed up for it and had gone to the first practice and was probably gonna be qb. well, once the trainer asked me this, i was like...uh...no...then she asks again, then i say in an uncertain voice...well, unless you don't want me to. and she says, you know you're not supposed to. and i think...awww crap. i was kinda mad, but i guess if i hadn't hurt myself, i woulda been able to play. damn it.

well, i think i'm gettin sick. my voice sounds really rough and my throat felt like sandpaper the last 2 days. my calf seems to be gettin better, though i have to go to the trainer in a few minutes to do some rehab and she says i should be good by monday (cross fingers). the being sick thing isn't floatin too well though. bleh, one thing gets better and another thing gets worse...when will both things be good?
